History of our kennelname

In the year 1977 there was big dogshow in Helsinki. We were sitting by the ring with our dogs Of Nocturno Dick and Hukanheimon Jutta. A small boy walked with his father front of us and said, “Look father that is Valkohammas”.

At the time our television was showing series written by Jack London starring an almost black wolf called White Fang. The name of Valkohampaan is translated from that. Everybody must also remember that there is always a small part of wolf in the dog and that means there is always wild animal in it.

Small thanks

During these thirty years there has been a lot of dogs who have a place in our hearts and it is impossible to name them all, but you can find these dogs on other pages of this website. We would like to thank all our puppy owners for the work they have done with their dogs and we hope that we can enjoy this great life with them and the dogs also in future.

We also want to thank all the bitch owners who have given their litters our kennelname and of course we want to thank other breeders for co-operating which is one of the
most important thing that breeders can do.

The way we breed

We have a kennel at our home where dogs are living with us as family members. They can come and go like we do and we have always fed them with homemade food.

Our principal is to breed belgian shepherds with whom you can work everywhere, in every way and they must look as near the standard than possible. All that must be found in same dog at the same time. Also the number of dogs is not as important as the quality and health. Then you must have passion, lot of knowledge and instinct to do right choices and plenty of good luck.

That’s why you can recognize the dogs of Valkohampaan without knowing the name of the dog.
